Where will you find the time to develop a Bioethics curriculum?

Writing a new school curriculum is hard - in any subject. However, Bioethics presents a unique challenge as it is quite unlike other subjects and its curriculum requirements are different to subjects you may be familiar with. Bioethics is not so much a discrete, self-contained subject but is a diverse discipline that touches on many different areas. This difference, which requires a different approach, creates a compounding problem as you often only have a small timeframe to work with.

Your tailored curriculum, developed at your school

Deborah is available to work with you at your secondary school.

Engagements can be a one-off or on a return basis depending on your needs. Each engagement is typically for a one or two week period. Deborah will help you write and develop a curriculum tailored to your school’s environment with respect to Science, Ethics, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Social Studies etc, in accordance with the your country's mandated curriculum (in New Zealand, the Ministry of Education’s New Zealand Curriculum).

Stimulating and student-centred 

This is no dry exercise. Deborah will assist you to create more student-centred lessons that both stimulate and challenge. The aim is to generate better use of stimulus material and discussion in your school's curriculum to inform, excite and prepare students for the real world.
