Deborah Stevens
A scientist and registered teacher, Deborah is an educational consultant in the discipline of Bioethics. The author and facilitator of New Zealand’s first dedicated bioethics curriculum at secondary school level, Deborah is in high demand as a conference presenter and as a facilitator of student and professional development seminars for teachers, across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Deborah was recently a plenary and workshop presenter at the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Conference on Bioethics Education in Seoul.
Deborah is currently engaged in doctoral research at the University of Waikato into bioethics education at the secondary school level.
As a member of the New Zealand Inter-Church Bioethics Council, Deborah is co-author of resource material on Human Reproductive Technologies, Stem Cell Research, Cloning, Euthanasia and Climate Change.
